Attorney Michelle C. Gehris has been newly elected as the President of the Family Law Section of the Mchenry County Bar Association. The Bar Association's mission is "to promote the common interest of the members of the bar, to improve through self-education and education to the public, the standing of the legal profession in the community and to better secure equal justic under law to which all citizens are entitled."
Attorney Gehris has been instrumental in the planning and coordination of the new Family Law Section Seminar that will offer local Family Law attorneys educational presentations that include: Implementing Child Support with Deployed Military Persons & Other Issues Surrounding the Military, Support Withholding (Penalties against Employers for Non-Withholding), and New Income Tax Regulations Regarding Deductions Taken by Divorced Parents.
In addition, Attorney Gehris has arranged for the upcoming Family Law Section Meeting to cover the topic of The Emotional Rollercoaster of Divorce, touching upon "stages of recovering from major trauma such as divorce" and "emotions asosciated with divorce - guilt and shame, fear and anxiety."
